🆘 Stranded in a Winter Storm with only an Emergency Kit - Adventure

  • Published on: 25 February 2021
  • After a hike on a remote trail, Luke the Lone Wolf returns to his truck to find that he is stranded with only his Vehicle Emergency Kit.

To compound the problems, a Winter Storm is closing in and temperatures are dropping....

After receiving countless messages from viewers about supporting the channel through Amazon, I have begun using Amazon Affiliate links in the Adventure Videos and if you choose to purchase one of these products via these links I will receive a small commission which will help fund future honest reviews and adventures.

The channel remains as it always was, 100% Agenda Free with no sponsored videos, no paid reviews, and I don't care if you purchase these products or not; you won't find affiliate links in review videos only in adventures.

I'm going to do my best to put gear lists into all of my videos since everyone is asking for them all the time.

I have used one in the cab of my truck every night during calving season (about 2 months) for the last 4 years and never had a problem.

I have a variety of freeze dried food, enough for about 6 months for me.(single, no family) Ready Wise is the bottom of the totem pole and will serve that $hit to anyone that needs help before any other brands. Its the safety net of the safety net of my emergency food. BTW, been cooking pro for 39 years with an AS degree in Culinary Arts along with several other degrees

I was concerned but as soon as you said you had windows open. I knew it was okay. But do you have one of those carbon monoxide alarms just in case? Just wondering and how much fuel do they use if you kept it on all night maybe 6-8 hours? Thank you Luke, very well done.

Only in the USA is a handgun considered an essential camping item.

this guy is absolutely the real deal. if you are considering making a purchase relating to camping and hiking. check to see if has reviewed it. I almost bought a tent claiming to be waterproof and since he reviewed it and said definitely dont get this particular tent. And boy was i lucky when we were camping ,stormed all night.

I love how you film yourself walking about 15m+ then have to turn around, walk back and pick up the camera

Some snatch blocks, wire rope, and a "Come-along" if you don't have a winch. The snatch blioocks and the extra cable can get you out of almost any situation so long as you have a good anchor point.

Put your paper towels in a zip lock bag keeps them clean and dry and you can use the bag to store water

Watching American videos and wondering about commenting on difficulties on snowy and icy roads. Why not use winter tires in the winter? Are studded tires not available in America? Nokian tires, for example, make excellent studded tires.Isn’t there slippery weather instruction in driving schools in America?

the silence is either a precursor to a winter storm or a sasquatch is nearby🤣

Where I live I have to worry more about the heat in the day and cold at night like desert temperatures. However I love your videos but gosh when I saw you with the ready wise I was yelling Nooo as I have seen many reviews on it before.

So basically....Readywise is gross LOL! Great video! In my car I just have a basic emergency roadside kit and a center punch. I haven't had to use any of it yet.

Add smoke signals, 2 types of flares: gun and road, GPS, and a duel band ham radio I'd call it complete

If a trail is closed by the forestry service does that mean we can't hike it any more or does it mean that it just won't be mapped and maintained?

I run a heater buddy in my truck is 14 ft x 8 x 10 no issues other than it's too warm sometimes it sucks having a 90° in a side of a aluminum shelled uninsulated truck with 4 inches of snow on the ground

Can I give you a suggestion? you could make a movie about how to park and disguise your car if you need to spend a night or some days in a dangerous place, where you might be robbed, for instance, and you don't want your car to be visible from the road.

I'm curious what state this guy lives in... while good stuff, realistically most people are not going to travel with all this stuff in their car they may use once. We have emergency bags in backpack in each of our cars and honestly have never used them. Seems like a huge waste of money beyond basics. 😕 🤔

A carbon monoxide sensor (portable) would resolve the safety issue. A reasonable precaution against a heater malfunction

You should have a SPOT, especially if you're going to go off trail and when you don't have cell service. My husband and I ride offroad dual sports up in very very rural Northwest and North Central PA and a SPOT was one of the best purchases we have ever made. It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it, kind of like personal protection 😉

I’m fulfilling my hiking camping desires through your trips because I physically can no longer do it…physical deficiencies after 26 yrs in the Army.Watching this video, it surprises me that you don’t carry a GPS where you can mark waypoints etc on your map and then your map by tracing the unmarked tracks/roads onto the map for future reference, even if you don’t walk the tracks you will at least be aware of the junctions.

@35:40 I'd swap out out the Readywise Apple Cinnamon Cereal for just regular Quaker Oats Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal from the store. You don't have to worry about it being able to keep fresh long enough, as you'll probably eat it at home before that!

@20:35 I have a few of those in "bar-soap" sized that are used with a small foldable stove that you've probably used yourself or seen in other camping videos.

You should get Jackery Power Station, and portable solar panels. What do you do for a bathroom in the really bad weather?
