The Billion Ant Mega Colony and the Biggest War on Earth

In nearly every corner of the Earth, ants wage war against each other. Their weapons are what nature gave them. Some have strong armour, deadly stingers or sharp mandibles. And then there is this tiny, and not very impressive ant. But it rules the biggest empire any ant has ever built. A colony spanning continents and fighting wars that leave millions of casualties. Let’s take a look at this unlikely warrioress: Linepithema humile, the Argentine ant.

I wonder how these ants would do against wood ants. The ones that build large ant hills in forests of the northern hemisphere. They also have multiple queens and establish multiple nests. The colonie population can number in hundreds of thousands. And they are over twice the size or even four times the size of the argentine ant.

And I for one welcome our new ant overlords and remind them, as a trusted journalist, that I can help coerce others to work in their underground sugar mines.

It's pronounced Argen-teen, not Argen-tahyn. As in rhymes with spleen, not spine.Note this isn't even a tomayto or tomahto situation, in spanish the letter i is pronounced exactly like the english name of the letter e. "een" is correct, "ahyn" is wrong.

So.. Humans also did this, supercolonies and then after that we started wars. It's very scary how fast ants evolve. They might take over the world and kill humans eventually.

The Jack Jumper Ant of Tasmania (Australia) sends about 5-10 people to hospital every year. Uber aggressive and famous for jumping by the dozen., pretty interesting ant.

This sure is a long "in a nutshell." Ants and termites are enemies so there should be fewer termites to eat away buildings.

There should be a robot ant that gets sprayed by the chemical and when the ants attack, you record and see how many thousands of Argentine ants the giant robot ant survives
