This sounds like an ideological call-to-arms, more than anything to do with Covid....."We're never alone, and that is our strength ...(platitude has 0 to do with Covid)Because, when we're doubted, we'll play as one ...(is Covid somehow "doubting" athletes?)When we're held back, we'll go farther and harder ...(who/what is holding back these amazing athletes?)If we're not taken seriously, we'll prove that wrong ...(I thought this was supposed to be about Covid)And if we don't fit the sport, we'll change the sport ...(or, at least the rules and venerated portions)We know things won't always go our way ...(yes, life is hard and sports help us how to deal with disappointment)But whatever it is, we'll find a way ...(platitude)And when things aren't fair, we'll come together for change ...(if we agree with it politically, also has nothing to do with Covid)And no matter how bad it gets, we will always come back stronger...(providing everyone follows our narrative)Because nothing can stop what WE can DO, together" ...(socialist platitude, has nothing to do with Covid)

But western included too...It would not matter , if u would not remove, as Islam has come out from worst phase with preservance of its beliefs

Go ask Jonathan Isaac how "united" everyone is after he got vilified for standing for the anthem. Go talk to the people that are mocking him for his injury about how together we are and how well we come together to help and support each otherLike I said it's all just nice little words for your commercial to virtue signal and show how you're "for the cause" when truth be told you're not. You're just like everyone else waiting to jump on someone for having a different opinion than what you have

  • Lonestar
    Lonestar   1 hours ago

This is all such bullshitThere all really nice words to say and hear to make the commercial meaningful but let's be real. The narrative is if you dont believe what I believe then you're the problemYou're opinion is different from my opinion so you're the ist, ism, and phobe and the problem isn't me because look how virtuous I am. I'm standing on the "right side of history" and in my world people that wrong think i.e. people who don't think like me aren't welcomeThat's what you really mean isn't it Nike? It's not about unity, it's about being better and above people you look your nose down on and cater to the people who would never buy your product in first place

You guys are so disrespectful you would dare show a rabbi skateboarding and then turning into a drag queen but for some reason, you think that its ok to do that to the Muslim community. Being boycotted is least you guys deserve.

Ever anti-Islamic Nike can "change" about as much as Obama did for blackfolks in Amerikkka. But while they are in that "yes we can" vibe, somebody pls their tell them: we don't need to fit the sport and your overpriced > slavery-wage shoes don't fit. No matter how many well paid celebs you throw at our feet.

I feel Very Offended by the negative connotation around a Muslim lady. If it dont fit, we'll change it. So subtle as well, so its not obvious 100% racism, but open for discussion, which makes it worse!

  • Miguel Ángel Torres Quiroga

BTW, Hijab is sexual oppression against women, and what you do with women and girls in sweatshops in countries like Mexico, Bangladesh or Pakistan is exploitative.

0:29 what kind of nonsense is this? Have you just made Muslim women lower in status than LGBT activits? Covering her body so that she doesn't get used, abused, or looked at by everyone is found to be backward according to your standards? YOU'RE ACTUALLY INSULTING MILLIONS OF MUSLIM WOMEN IN THIS AD!

The direction on this is brilliant. It is also very on-brand, almost too on brand. Just doesn't seem like the most responsible thing to have a slogan such as "Nothing can stop sports/us", "Just do it", during a pandemic. Sports and sports brands are so focused on the youth and the achievement of the youth, it makes me sad they have forgotten the older generation of athletes and former athletes that past away from this virus. The spot also touches on mobility, racial, and gender equality, but It feels like an early victory lap on progress and associating there brand with it, but only briefly touching on the COVID elephant in the room because they are not capable or don't want to dilute there messaging. "Just do it, safely" or "Nothing can stop us, except a pandemic" aren't exactly winning slogans. But this kind of messaging has consequences of normalizing gathering and playing sports during a pandemic. We know that the virus has hit minority and older generations very hard, and Nikes doesn't want people to stop playing sports even during a pandemic. I overthink these things.

Gone are the days when sport was not political. BLM is a Marxist organization - read their manifesto it's scary. The public needs to speak with their dollars. I've boycotted Nike after they hired race-baiting collin kap. The Orlando magic has the only player with some backbone.

"If we don't fit the sport, we change the sport"Well at least you're openly admitting to wanting to change the rules in order to succeed. Next up: Contact free rugby, handball with no blocking, lower basket hoops in basketball, no net tennis, marathon running where the winner is decided by a panel of judges. If you think I'm exaggerating, the first three things I named for real were floated by official leagues. Yes even the rugby one.
