When Too Much Snow Falls - Over a Foot of Snow - Multiday Winter Adventure

  • Published on: 11 February 2021
  • The biggest Winter Storm of the season is approaching and it will force Luke and Susan to escape the high peaks before it's too late.

This is an extremely snowy multiday adventure and it begins now!

After receiving countless messages from viewers about supporting the channel through Amazon, I have begun using Amazon Affiliate links in the Adventure Videos and if you choose to purchase one of these products via these links I will receive a small commission which will help fund future honest reviews and adventures.

The channel remains as it always was, 100% Agenda Free with no sponsored videos, no paid reviews, and I don't care if you purchase these products or not; you won't find affiliate links in review videos only in adventures.

I'm going to do my best to put gear lists into all of my videos since everyone is asking for them all the time.

For this trip, here are the big items that I used.

Wow. Loved the trees in snow on your hike out. No way to describe the beauty. Susie, would trekking poles have helped in the deep snow?

Just a tip from a ex soldier. Let always the slower person walk in front of the faster person. That way the slower/weaker person makes the tempo and he/she will not exhaust that quickly.

Susie you are getting more comfortable and confident with each video you are in and as a matter of fact you could kick him to the curb and take over. Alpha Wolves come in a female version as well.

What a great video, yet another one. You are a beautiful couple and love when you said your job is to look after Susie, and she acknowledges and appreciates that. You both are passionate about each other and what you do in the outdoors and I find it inspiring. Your positivity is uplifting. Keep it up :)

Another great video from TOGR..The snow looked awesome and beautiful. We rarely get snow here in Cornwall so it is a joy to watch videos with loads of the white stuff.. You both obviously get so much pleasure from each other's company and sharing the great outdoors together is wonderful.Luke, may I ask what the lovely music is on this video? The cello music in particular is quite beautiful. I would be grateful if you could add music used on to the details of your video.I enjoy immensely all your posts and i am working my way through your back catalogue!!!!Regards,Blair.

I cannot support the value of the Hilleberg more than enough! Great stuff.Do you have a pace rate method - here in UK we tend to use Naismith's rule or approx 4km/hr plus 30 mins/thousand feet (1min/10m), with extra for snow! [The original Naismith's was 4mile/hr but that was when everyone walked everywhere!]

The only real drawback to the JetBoil is that it's strictly for heating water, not for mixing stuff in the container. This limits its usefulness a bit. On the other hand, it heats water very quickly, so if you're making coffee or a dehydrated meal, you'll get your hot water pretty fast.

I'd say the Fjällräven gaiters are made more for keeping moisture out in wet environments rather than for ventilation.

Snow is GREAT for cleaning stuff! Especially fine powder snow when it's cold and dry.For example, take out that thick mat and dump it upside down in the snow. It's gonna do wonders. Do it several times and the mat will be as clean as it'll ever get.

I'd pitch my tent near the running water, the sound of the running water would help me sleep but I also know the water draws animals. Would hate for big foot to come get a drink near my tent lol and why such sad music??
