When Too Much Snow Falls - Over a Foot of Snow - Multiday Winter Adventure

  • Published on: 11 February 2021
  • The biggest Winter Storm of the season is approaching and it will force Luke and Susan to escape the high peaks before it's too late.

This is an extremely snowy multiday adventure and it begins now!

After receiving countless messages from viewers about supporting the channel through Amazon, I have begun using Amazon Affiliate links in the Adventure Videos and if you choose to purchase one of these products via these links I will receive a small commission which will help fund future honest reviews and adventures.

The channel remains as it always was, 100% Agenda Free with no sponsored videos, no paid reviews, and I don't care if you purchase these products or not; you won't find affiliate links in review videos only in adventures.

I'm going to do my best to put gear lists into all of my videos since everyone is asking for them all the time.

For this trip, here are the big items that I used.

Snowed in, for the weekend; in a tent !There are only so many things that you can do before you run out of tea bags, instant coffee, hot chocolate or water. You need to test out a couple of those sleeping bags that zip together in the back of that truck. ~wink-wink~

I think that it was a good decision to get off the mountain with a foot of snow down and more predicted to fall over the next few hours. It's fine if you have a load of supplies to wait it out for a few days and the best of equipment, and people knowing exactly where you are but not so fine if you haven't, in which case just go.Even the best of cold weather experts such as mountaineers and explorers have died in the cold so no one is immune from danger.

This video reminds me of the last time I went snow camping in 94. I was in the Kaibab forest at the Grand Canyon. The thing I liked most was how quiet and peaceful it was when it snowed. Only thing I heard was snow falling. I hope to experience this again.

I must be missing something but...whats the point? What do you gain from these trips? It literally seems that you just tromp up to the top of a mountain knowing its going to snow, with a massive bag full of protection from snow gear, sleep in a tent while it snows, then walk back to the car. You know the gear can protect you from the snow so its not a challenge like you have to build a shelter out of sticks and twigs before nightfall. I just dont see the reason for it at all. I can understand camping at a site instad of paying for other accomodation or taking a multiday trek along a trail to get from here to there while looking at views but the just walking up a mountain when its going to snow sleeping inside a well chosen tent in a super thick sleeping bag with great winter gear for no other seeming reason than "well it was going to snow and be windy" I don't get. I've watched a bunch of your videos now and the reviews of items are super useful and all of your content is well presented. This isnt an attack in any way Im literally trying to understand the why.

Hi! Be careful with that gas heater that you had in the van. They produce Carbon Monoxide, make sure to vent the vehicle often.

I have always wondered about hikers who camp in the winter or summer too, what would happen if you hurt yourselves, do you have something to call for help? I would think so, but just wondering.. you guys hike so far into the mountains etc.. That it would be hard to get back down if hurt..
